Episode 3.5: Zombie Fan Mail

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 3.5: Zombie Fan Mail

In this mini-episode, we respond to our first fan mail, furthering our discussion about zombies. James talks super fast to make sure he gets to say everything he wants to within the 20-minute time limit we set for ourselves. Erin continues to hone her Radio D voice.

Special thanks to Jamie Chahine for the use of our theme song, “Did You Guys Know There Was a Ladder Down Here?”

  1. The point is – if you take away nothing else from my response to the Zombiecast – it’s that you should watch The Thick Of It, which has nothing to do with zombies. Way up there for me, amazing show (they made a movie out of it, too, called In the Loop).

Quick clarification: I enjoyed Weeks because I’m a fan of the actor and the score, but 28 Weeks Later was not as good as 28 Days Later. So, if you finish Days and you loved it and want more, Weeks shouldn’t ruin the series for you. The good thing about Weeks is that it really does start with a bang, but, not to turn you off it too much… it’s really all downhill from there.

To put it another way, I’d re-watch Days, but I wouldn’t re-watch Weeks (although I’d watch that opening scene again, hoo boy).

I never read WWZ, but I probably liked the movie because I never read the book and my expectations were low because I had heard nothing but similar complaints when I saw it, so I was pleasantly surprised. I love when that happens.

Oh, Erin, are you kidding me? I knew you were both Who fans all along! (You both mention Dr. Who repeatedly in the Time Travel episode you sent me.) I think I automatically tend to write in such a way that the reader has to do as little work as possible, probably because that’s how I like to read.
